Rainbow Beach Community Centre Happenings

The weather may be changing slightly as the seasons shift, but the Rainbow Beach Community Centre management remains the same following the AGM (Annual General Meeting) in March.

Fifteen members of the Community Information and Resource Service (CIRS) attended the meeting and re-elected the following volunteer Executive Committee:

Jed Elmer (President), Lynda Twamley (Treasurer), and Tyla Elmer (Secretary).

One of the top priorities for the committee is to inspire more people from the local community to join our volunteer team and contribute a small amount of time. Being part of the Community Centre is incredibly rewarding and creates wonderful connections amongst the community.

We have many opportunities to suit various schedules, abilities and interests, so, if you are reading this, we urge you and welcome you to give us a call or email on the contact below to make an enquiry.

If you need to fulfill mutual obligations for Centrelink, we can certainly accommodate you, and it is a fantastic environment to do so. Volunteer roles include office work, markets assistance, fundraising by selling raffle tickets and many more.

Enormous gratitude to both the Rainbow Beach Hotel for their consistent and generous donations to our monthly markets and monthly raffle fund-raising opportunities, and the Rainbow Beach Sports Club who have donated an under-bench fridge for our kitchen as well as weekly raffle fundraising opportunities.

Local business support has been vital to raising funds for the CIRS and is greatly appreciated.

For The Community!

You might remember the CIRS 25th anniversary in December 2025 and the burial of the time capsule? Well, it has not quite been able to be buried! Due to various compliance and bureaucratic restrictions, an alternative has been organised so now the time capsule will be displayed in a clear cabinet at the Centre.

This means that you can still add your addition to the capsule; a small piece of 'now' to be added to history and revealed in 2050 to the future Rainbow Beach. Paper can be added (the size of A4 with pencil writing) with your message until the end of April.
