Quilts with Messages

Gympie Regional Gallery is hosting an exhibition of quilts by members of Queensland Quilters Inc. titled “State of the Art (SOTA19)”. The exhibition recognises quilting as an art form and demonstrates the changing nature of the quilting arts.

Both practical and beautiful, these quilts can tell stories of our environment, relationships and social issues, like featured image ‘Forest’ by Julie Harding.

A wide range of techniques lovingly bring these pieces of fabric together; including painting, printing, eco dyeing, collage, hand and machine stitching and combinations of these.

The exhibition will continue until 18 May
