Music was pumping, wheels were spinning and the vibe was electric at the Skate and Relate session in Tin Can Bay on 23 August. The event was run by Chiggy’s Skateboarding whose mission is to activate local skate parks and create safe, positive spaces where young people can connect, feel supported, and build confidence through skateboarding.

The day featured learn-to-skate workshops, one-on-one and group coaching, live demonstrations, music, giveaways, food, and more, all led by three professional skateboard coaches with extensive experience in youth engagement.

Designed for vulnerable youth under 17, the initiative is backed by the Gympie Police Crime Prevention Unit and Tin Can Bay Police, who joined the event to show their support.

The next Skate and Relate session will be held at Cooloola Cove on Wednesday 24 September 2025. Spaces are limited, so register your interest now at hello@chiggysskateboarding.com.au. Walk-ins are welcome on the day, subject to availability.

Please note: youth must be registered online, with waivers completed by an adult, to participate. Or just pop down on the day to say hello and enjoy the vibe!
