Grant Success!
June 2026 update from Rainbow Beach Boardriders Club.
Brooke Bignell, Rainbow Beach Boardriders Club
Our Grant Coordinator, Sasha, has successfully secured funds for Rainbow Beach Boardriders Club.
The Play Our Way Equipment Grant, supported through Surfing Australia, is helping create greater opportunities for women and girls to participate in surfing by improving access to essential equipment and resources.
Through the grant funding our Club has been able to purchase a selection of shared surfboards to help expand participation and provide more equitable access to surfing.
The program aligns with the national Play Our Way initiative, which focuses on increasing female participation in sport and physical activity across Australia.
The Club hopes to bring a Women's Surf Day to the community in the near future. Watch this space.
Despite 'less than ideal' conditions, 40 members rolled on down to the beach for our May Club Rounds. Live Heats is proving to be an easy and convenient way to register for our Club Rounds and record our points. An investment for sure!
The Mother's Day raffle was a success with all funds raised going straight into the kitty toward our new rashies! Congratulations Sue, Barb, and Huhana, and many thanks to all those who supported the raffle.
Our June Club Rounds will be held on the 7th at the bottom of the Surf Club Stairs. The Modin Family have kindly donated our BBQ items and all proceeds from the morning will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Surfers and spectators - come in something pink, as outrageous as it may be, let's have some fun for a worthy cause.
This month is Fishing Classic Month, and you'll catch us on Grand Finale night, hosting the raffles, thanks again to the Rainbow Beach Sports Club for their support.
Until next month, stay salty!
