CIRS Update: June 2026
Jed Elmer, President, Rainbow Beach Community Information & Resource Centre (CIRS)
Winter greetings from Rainbow Beach Community Hall - although it hasn't entirely felt cold enough so far!
Hall activities have turned down to a consistent flurry during the quieter months, which is welcome as we take time to revamp internal systems and processes that are long overdue.
We are hopeful that better organisation within the centre will make daily tasks much easier and will mean that potential volunteers will be crowding the doors to join - we hope!
We send a huge thanks to the Rainbow Beach Sports Club for their kindness and generosity in offering members night raffles for the months of February, March, and May this year, raising nearly $5,000 dollars for the Hall!
Along with their previous donation of a new under-counter fridge for the kitchen, we have funds available to invest in some improvements to the Hall and its facilities in the coming months as well as Santa Comes to Rainbow later in the year.
We are also grateful to host the Saturday night raffles every third Saturday of the month at the Rainbow Beach Hotel which has brought much-needed funds for the Hall over the last year, along with their regular donations to our Markets BBQ Boys team!
These very kind contributions are invaluable to the Hall. Our beautiful community continues to show its generosity and we cannot be more grateful, thank you!
As always, we welcome more volunteers at the centre, this can be anything from cleaning and gardening, through to market set ups or office work. If you need to fulfill mutual obligations for Centrelink, we are able to help meet your required contributions.
